I am a Michigan-based music producer and mix engineer. I also teach music locally.

 I started recording around the same time as I started playing guitar - during the explosion of rock and roll that came out in the late 80s and early 90s. Years later I got a college degree in music and audio production. I trained professionally as a recording engineer at River City Studios in Grand Rapids, MI, and was taught the subtleties of mixing by their top-tier engineers.

 I have now been a professional audio engineer for 15 years. I have written magazine articles on the subject and taught many semi-professional engineers about how to get great recordings out of the equipment they already use.
